Sonya
Smith-Valentine
is the owner of the Valentine Legal Group, LLC. Using her combined
15+ years of experience, first as a
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and now as an attorney, Sonya has
had a successful legal career winning cases against credit bureaus, credit card
companies, banks and collection agencies for unlawful activity.
Sonya is
also a
powerful keynote speaker and
consultant. She is passionate about
educating individuals about personal finance.
Sonya speaks professionally across the country motivating people
on how
to keep debt and credit problems from having a
devastating effect on their careers.
Sonya
is frequently
interviewed by newspapers,
magazines and
television networks on debt collection issues, identity theft,
credit reports and other important personal finance issues.
Sonya is a contributing author to "The
GlamourLESS Side of Entreprenuership: What They Didn't Teach You About Being a
Woman in Business". She
has also written
several
articles regarding consumer law.
Sonya answers personal finance questions for
various celebrities and stars.
Sonya received her
law degree from
Brooklyn Law School and her Bachelors of Science degree
in Accountancy from Villanova
University. She is admitted to practice law in Maryland, the District of
Columbia, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Sonya previously worked for both Price Waterhouse Coopers and Deloitte &
Touché. She was formerly an Adjunct Professor in the area of accountancy at
Howard Community College.
