Sonya Smith-Valentine

I am the owner of the Valentine Legal Group, LLC. My practice is dedicated exclusively to protecting consumers in both federal and state courts.  I have filed numerous successful consumer rights cases against credit bureaus, credit card companies, banks and collection agencies for unlawful activity.

 I received my law degree from Brooklyn Law School and my Bachelors of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University.  I am admitted to practice law in Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, the United States District Courts for the District of Maryland and the District of Columbia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.   

I have been interviewed by various newspapers, radio and television networks on debt collection harassment, identity theft,  and credit reporting issues. I have lectured locally and nationally on both the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
